Rev. Kevin Wilson
Associate Pastor

Whether you call him Kevin Wilson or “Kev da Rev,” he responds as 1st UMC’s Associate Pastor.  He was appointed to the church in 2002. Kevin was ordained as a Deacon in Full Connection in 2004. He received a Masters of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School, TCU in 1999.

Edward (Ed) Gibson Director of Music Ministries

Edward C. Gibson, IV, native of Houston, Texas, serves as director of music ministries at First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, Texas. At First United Methodist, Ed directs the Chancel Choir (adult choir), Disciples Children’s Choir, the Glory Ringers (adult handbell ensemble) Genesis (beginning adult handbell ensemble) and the Holy Ringers (children’s handbell ensemble).

Valerie Stewart - Children's Coordinator - to all my church family. What a blessing it is to be the new Children’s Ministry Coordinator at FUMC. For those of you who don’t know me I love children and have been a music teacher in the public schools for the last 30 years. It has been my pleasure to have served in music and children’s ministry as a volunteer since I was a youth. I am so excited to fulfill this call on my life by serving Christ and our church.

Amanda Sargent
Director of Children's and Youth Ministries

Amanda Sargent is the Director of Children and Youth Ministries. She over sees everything to do with the Foundation Student Ministries and the amazing Children's Ministry opportunities at First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie. She has a degree in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas and has been serving in youth ministry for over ten years.

Linda Weiss
Organist

A native of Pennsylvania, Linda has lived in Texas for over 30 years. She received a degree in Music Ed. from Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA and has done Master's degree work at U.T. Arlington.

During the school year, Linda is a piano and organ accompanist at Tarrant County College SE and at Mountain View College. She is also an experienced piano and organ teacher and welcomes students of all ages.

Cathy To Communications Minister -  Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Church Ministry and a Minor in Youth Ministry, Missions, and Bible from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. Prior to serving First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, Cathy has held positions such as Associate Youth Director, and Mentoring and Tutoring Life coach.
