Traditional Worship Service

First United Methodist Church (FUMC), Waxahachie has two Traditional Worship celebrations; both embody the piety of classical Methodist worship traditions.  Within these worship celebrations the congregation uses songs, liturgies, and affirmations of faith from the United Methodist Hymnal and United Methodist Book of Worship.  Typically, FUMC Waxahachie either follows a well planned out sermon series or employs the Revised Common Lectionary to select texts for preaching.

Clothing

FUMC Waxahachie is not a church that believes it is necessary for there to be a dress code in worship.  However, we do recognize that we are joining together in Christian community to participate in worship of the above all other names.  We ask that you wear what you are comfortable in, that you come knowing fully that you will not be judged.

Participation

Some of the highlights of the Traditional Services are its ability to bring new life to what some might consider traditional practices.  We have 3 bell choirs: The Glory Ringers (Advanced Bell Choir), Genesis Ringers (Beginning Adult Choir), and The Holy Ringers (Children’s/Youth Bell Choir) which help keep a fresh vitality to a very traditional practice.  FUMC Waxahachie has a spot for everyone that might what to sing the glories of God by having two different Choirs to sing in: Children’s/Youth Choir and the Adult Choir.

If you have a desire to read the word of God or assist in the celebration of Holy Communion there is the ability for you to do so.
